Types, Quotes, and 2 Smoking Design Tools by Butcher Billy
The voodoo of Butcher Bully is a perfect witch’s brew of geek-centric spices from the flavor profiles of film, comics, gaming, and just all around excellent design. In his latest masterminding, Billy conjured a set of famous film quotes set in the typography of the iconic movie posters that represent them, the fonts just as recognizable as the words they’re emblazoned with.
Really interesting food-related typographic work by the designer and illustrator Danielle Evans (aka Marmaladebleue). This artwork have been made for a social media campaign called "Food for Thought" for the Target canadian stores. Oh ! and don’t forget to check her blog “Food Typography" cause it’s awesome too.
Upside-Down Ads Reveal The Subtlety Of Depression
Singapore-based suicide prevention organisation Samaritans of Singapore recently ran a series of ads which cleverly uses ambigrams to highlight the difficulty in understanding and identifying depression. The print ads feature images showing a positive message.
However, when the ad is inverted, a sadder, more depressing message is revealed.
The advertisement’s tagline “The signs are there if you read them” is printed upside-down so that readers will know to flip the ads over.
It also reinforces the message that it is easy to miss the warning signs of depression.
